Holden Gen 3 Spark Plug Leads Price
2012-12-08As anybody does, i went down to my local auto store to buy a set of leads, as you can see it became a obsession for me and became the birth of this store & blog,
So i set out and started searching for better priced leads and to be honest didn’t find anything cheaper than what was on offer in the chain stores.
later on i was lucky enough to meet a rep for a small Australian manufacture of Spark plug leads, and asked for a quote and was shocked by their quote, so I began selling leads as cheap as i could on ebay, with each successful sale i began this site.
But to get back to my original question: Why on earth are most Holden Gen 3 Spark Plug Leads so expensive?
Well it really depends on what type of gen3 lead you would like to buy: 5mm? 8mm? 10mm?
Genuine Holden gen 3 leads are 5mm thick, making the boots & terminal for only 5mm thick leads becomes a problem, because if the boot does not seal tight around the leads the spark will jump out. Also another huge problem for aftermarket manufactures is making only one set out of 5mm leads, having to purchase MOQ (minimum order quantity) of each boot / terminal / and 5mm lead, when most other cars are suited for 8mm thick leads.
I think the easiest way to combat the price problem for manufactures was to forget about trying to make them in 5mm leads and try 8mm.
10mm (known as the performance leads) i would like to talk about these leads in another blog, as i feel there are many ways you can look at these leads and what you would like out of them.
